Easter Sunday what a great day it was! We enjoyed amazing music at our 9:30 service with the 11:11 band with some added strings. I wish it could be that way every week! I woke up with the chorus from "Glorious Day (living He Loved Me) by Casting Crowns in my head that we sang on Sunday:
Living, He loved me
Dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
Rising, He justified freely forever
One day He’s coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day
I had a smile on my face...the first in a long time on a work day morning. A lot has been going on in my life and some of it is/has been very stressful and unknown. I'm thankful to have my very supportive husband and heavenly Father. I'm reminded of something our pastor said on Sunday in his service. It reminded me of the wildfires that have been happening in Oklahoma and Texas recently. The fires are not a good situation, especially when a lot of Texas has been without rain for quite some time. However, God showed me that just as those fires were consuming the land in Oklahoma and Texas, He wants to be the Consuming Fire in our lives. He wants us to let Him consume our lives and live for Him. He wants us to spread His Love live a consuming fire. God sent his son to be born of a virgin, who lived and went through everything we as humans can go through. Then the ultimate sacrifice was given as Jesus' was hung on a cross, died, and the best part..ROSE AGAIN!! Why you might ask would a father give his son's life? So that you and I can have eternal life in heaven, a place that we can try to imagine but is far greater than anything we will ever know here on this earth. I am not a parent yet, so I cannot even imagine the love one has for their child, but I can imagine that it would be heart-wrenching to have your child go through everything Jesus went through. However, God did this because He loves us so incredibly much! I know I do not feel like I deserve that kind of love, but God has given it to me freely and I have accepted it and a relationship with his son, Jesus Christ. I may not live each day the way I should, but God forgives me and leads me to where He wants me to be in His will and plan for my life. I am thankful for His love and forgiveness.
So, on this Thursday, I want to be more intentional. I want to live with this light that is consuming like the wildfires! I want others to know that life is fun, even in the midst of trials. Trust, me I have them and am going through some. However, I feel I've let the darkness in too much and not let my light shine enough lately. That is not how I want to live, but I want to live in the light!
Live with purpose and abandon, Laugh often (every day), Love with your entire soul...and know it won't always be easy but by doing those things it will be easier to handle and more enjoyable that the other options that are out there in this crazy world.
Have a fabulous day, my friends!

Can I plan another wedding for me?!
Oh, how wonderful it would be to plan another wedding for Matt and me! Even more wonderful if it was pre-paid. Yes, I miss that excitement of just getting engaged (a year ago tomorrow, April 8th, will mark our one year anniversary since getting engaged!), the excitement of planning for the BIG DAY! Yes, our BIG DAY was exactly what God wanted us to have and was perfect! No, in reality, everything did not turn out as I had dreamed or wanted, but I had the perfect dress, I felt like a million bucks and could be on the cover of inStyle or Vogue, I had the man of my dreams waiting for me at the end of the aisle, we had laughs when our sand overflowed, we had our best friends (or almost all) in attendance, we had as many family members as could make the trip there, we had a beautiful "Sex in the City" reception as one person told me of the entire wedding!. Yes, it was a blast! Yes, it went by so fast! Yes, we have our pictures (well the DVDs)! Yes, we have almost all of our videos! Yes, my name is now officially changed to Glover!
However, the past several months have been far from easy. I cannot say that we have dealt with extreme circumstances, but for me/us there have been obstacles. I've been dealing with some health stuff that seems to be getting better (slowly). I dealt with the loss of a family friend. Matt has dealt with the loss of a former coworker. I've been dealing with decisions that I can't even vocalize right now. Relationships with people have changed since getting married. I didn't expect that. Some of the relationships had changed prior to the wedding, and even though I have tried so hard for those not to change...they have. It makes me sad to realize those relationships were never what I really thought they were. Sadness. We have celebrated an upcoming wedding at a couples shower! One of my bridesmaids and best friends just had her baby boy yesterday! Overall, we are healthy! We both still have jobs, which is wonderful! We have a lot to be thankful for.
I do ask if you think of us to pray. I'd like to have a blog that would reveal great fashion finds and advice as I love this stuff and Matt says I'm so good at it. But I feel I lack the time and knowledge to do this. I have a really good friend from my childhood/growing up years that has one and does an amazing job! I'd like to get back to cooking and make our own recipes and meals but timing is usually an issue with our schedules. I'd like to bake more but be able to give it away so we don't eat it all! haha! I'd like to find my way back to my piano and singing, but I'm struggling with the fact that my house may be the only outlet for it. I'm seeking answers and guidance to things that can't be mentioned right now.
What am I doing? I'm praying. I'm trusting God, even though at times it is very hard. I'm trusting He is opening doors, showing us the path to take, and I know he will guide us. I cling to Jeremiah 29:11 and the end of Matthew 6. I'm trying to focus on the fun things we will be able to do this summer when Matt has no coaching responsibilities. I'm trying not to worry about the fact that I will be working on some of those trips. I'm trying to focus on the fact that in about a week and a half we will have been married for 4 months! Crazy how time flies! I'm excited to be an "aunt" to Nathan!
I'm going to focus on those exciting things. This isn't going to be a year filled with the excitement of planning the biggest event of my life, thus far, but it will be a great year! God doesn't give you more than you can handle. So, I know it will be a great day, great week, great month, great spring, great year!
Have a blessed day!

I know, I know...
...I need to update the ole blog! A lot has happened since my last post and life hasn't slowed down that much either. We now have our wedding pictures and as of last week our video, so posts will be coming soon. It just takes me forever to get pictures we have taken edited, then get the professional ones loaded on the computer. I consider myself pretty tech-savvy but I'm not the best. I also wish I had much more time to do such things! Soon...
Have a blessed day!

Perfectionism...
...it's one of my faults, yet at times it can be an attribute. I say it is one of my faults because I feel that lately, I want everything to be "perfect." I don't necessarily mean the Webster definition of perfect, but the definition that is in my brain. What is that meaning? I don't know exactly. I do know that recently I've felt that some of my wedding plans haven't been going well or rather, haven't been happening in the "perfect" timing that's in my head.
I've felt frustrated. It seems that even some small things have frustrated me and caused me to say, "seriously, this is frustrating me?!"
I've been told this is normal. I've been told, I have a lot on my plate and going on in my life.
I've also been told to just not worry or stress. How do I do this when in my mind all I'm doing is being concerned about timing of things?
I've felt like I'm not being the best fiancee possible to Matt. I've felt that he deserves so much better.
Why is all this happening? I'm letting Satan get to me. That's what I'm doing. I'm letting him steal the joy of preparing for the second best covenant I will make in my life. The first being my decision to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. What joy and happiness there is to know that I have found the one God wants me to spend the rest of my life with. We get to stand before friends and family in 67 days and make a covenant with God and between ourselves that we will love each other, support each other no matter what...through good and bad. Thinking about this makes me happy.
SO, I'm going to strive to not let the little things and the less than perfect things get to me. I know it will all get done and in the end, be perfect. What good does it do my body to worry and get stressed? None! It absolutely doesn't help at all, especially since the past 12 months have been a roller coaster for me health-wise. I need to take care of myself.
I'm so thankful God loves me no matter what and is seeing me through this time, just as He has through every other moment in my life. I'm very thankful for a fiance who loves me no matter what and cannot wait to spend the rest of his life with me. I'm thankful for my family and their support during this process. I'm thankful to my future family. In reality, no one has pushed their ideas on us for the wedding. Everyone has left it up to me and Matt. How lucky can one get?! So, I'm thankful, so very thankful.
Today = 67 days until I marry my best friend, my love!!!! :)
Today = a great day!
Today = a chance to not worry, to not be a perfectionist about everything
Today = a blessing from God!!

I'm Back...
...or at least I'm going to try to be! First, I know I need to discuss with Matt, my wonderful fiance, his feelings on the whole blog thing, but I'm going to try to be back and post more often.
What's been going on...well, up until recently, and I mean all year (2010) long I've been busy with work. Some weeks not quite as long or busy, but still busy. Other weeks, crazy busy. It's finally slow. I'm enjoying it, but some days it is not a comfortable slow. What I mean is that my work is based on billable hours, not that I just come and put in 8, 9, 12, 13 hours. Yes, it is okay to have non-chargeable (non-billable) or non-productive hours, but honestly, bonuses, raises, and potential promotions look mainly at billable/chargeable hours. I'm not worried. I just wish my job was a bit more consistent with busy times and slow times. I have no set busy time each year. It varies based on the work. It could last 6 months, 3 months, 2 weeks, an entire year. It could happen multiple times a year. I am very blessed, though, to have a very well-paying job, that, in all honestly, is very secure for me. However, at times...lets say a lot of times this year, I've felt unhappy, unfulfilled, with where I'm at. I know God has me here for a reason and I really hope I'm being a shining light to my coworkers. I know He has a plan. I know His plan has me here until at least sometime after the wedding and maybe longer. I know all this. But a big part of me wants to know where He has me going, career wise. I want to be more passionate about what I do. One day...I'm trusting that one day the door will open and God will lead.
The wedding plans....oh they are so exciting! I cannot tell you how wonderful God has been through everything. He has allowed so many wonderful vendors to come our way. The church had the day open we needed, which was good because since it is a Sunday, they only have one time they do weddings on Sundays. Why Sunday, you may ask? Well, my oh, so fabulous fiance is an amazing football and baseball coach at a high school, and well, you just don't schedule your wedding during football season! At least in Texas you don't! So, that's why it's on a Sunday, as we are doing it the first possible day that football season is officially over! The head wedding coordinator at our church, gave us a great recommendation for our reception. It totally worked out and they are not charging us more just because it is the holiday season! Thank you! Our florist, well, she is amazing and is giving us a wonderful deal on all of our flowers. Our photographer, she's great too! Our videographer, I don't know her well right now, but I can say she is giving us a great deal too and I cannot wait to work with her! If I had the money, I'd go all out with her becuase that's how much I love her work! :)
My dress...beautiful, no gorgeous...I LOVE it!! :) My shoes, fabulous too! My veil, a nice touch to finalize my look as a bride and does not detract from the dress, which is what I wanted.
My maid of honor...the BEST. I love her and best of all, she's my sister!
My bridesmaids...wonderful! They all in some way impact my life in ways others don't and I honestly feel like and know they will always be there for Matt and me.
Best Man...love him, he's my future brother!
Groomsmen...they are great too! Love them for being willing to stand up and be there for Matt. I mean one of them is my brother and Matt's best man. The other a fellow friend and coach!
My parents...oh so fabulous! They support my decisions and have let us decide what we want for the wedding. Honestly, it's been pretty easy because I've known what I want. I guess that's what happens when you get married in your upper 20's...well, okay, at 29! haha! However, I would not have it any other way because it is the way God wanted it to be! Plus, I've learned how to be independent. I've learned how to deal with lots of responsibilities. The crazy, totally God part is that I met the man of my dreams in Texas and we grew up 20 minutes from each other back in the Appalachian mountains (E.TN/VA area). Now how crazy is that! We meet way down here! Crazy, I tell ya, but honestly, it shows that no matter where someone is currently or has been, God will bring the two of you together!
Work is calling my name. It's Friday and I want to leave early or on time, so I will answer.
Have a great day! :)
