I sent the following in an email to some friends who are special to me. I thought I would share with all of you too as I know I missed some people on the email, as I'm at work.
Good Morning! Born Again by Third Day just came on ksbj. I'm very blessed to be able to listen to the station online during the day. It helps keep me focused and in the right frame of mind, especially with co-workers frustrate me or other things that may come up. Born Again by Third Day has been one of my favorite songs for months (along with Revelation Song...check it out too!). I think one reason is because 2009 has been a year so far where I've felt more alive than I did last year and God has really been revealing to me His joy, His plan, and how life is truly what we make of it. I have always believed that and I've always trusted God would take me to where He wants me to be. I mean, I'm still in Texas after coming here over 10 years ago! That was not my plan, but I'm loving every minute of it knowing it is where He wants me to be right now.
Anyway, I will keep this short. I really feel like every day we should live, truly live, like it is the first time. So many people cross our path every day (students, adults, co-workers, little children, etc.). I've always thought that I might be planting seeds that I may never see bloom and I'm ok with that. As long as I'm living as Christ has called me to live and finding the joy in every day, everything else will come and will be handled accordingly no matter how easy or tough the situation may be.
I pray God blesses each one of you today!
Misty
Here is a link on youtube where you can hear the song if you don't know it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Fw9EDKGHTU
Here are the lyrics and I hope they are accurate as I pulled them from some website.
Today I found myself,
After searching all these years,
And the man that I saw,
He wasn't at all who I'd thought He'd be,
I was lost when You found me here,
And I was broken beyond repair,
Then You came along and sang Your song over me
Chorus 1
It feels like I'm born again
It feels like I'm living
For the very first time
For the very first time,
In my life
Verse 2
Make a promise to me now,
Reassure my heart somehow,
That the love that I feel,
is so much more real than anything
I've a feeling in my soul,
And I pray that I'm not wrong,
That the life I have now,
It is only the beginning
Chorus 2
It feels like I'm born again
It feels like I'm living
For the very first time
For the very first time
It feels like I'm breathing
It feels like I'm moving
For the very first time
For the very first time
Bridge
I wasn't looking for something that was more,
Than what I had yesterday,
Then You came to me,
Then You gave to me,
Life and a love that I've never known,
That I've never felt before
Final Chorus
It feels like I'm born again
It feels like I'm living
For the very first time
I'm living for the first time
It feels like I'm breathing
It feels like I'm moving
For the very first time
I'm living for the first time,
In my life

Football!!
So, we are in the midst of football season right now! Here is what my football fall has looked like so far:
COLLEGE: TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY - Home of the 12th Man and I am a proud Aggie! This past weekend we beat Texas Tech in Lubbock!! It had been years since we beat them in Lubbock. So, I'm hoping for a few more wins and a win against the Longhorns on Thanksgiving! Aggie fight never dies!!
HIGH SCHOOL: TAYLOR HIGH SCHOOL in Katy - Home of the Mustangs! Two more games until playoffs. I'm very proud of them this year and they have great potential to finish out the season in a great way!
NFL: INDIANAPOLIS COLTS - where Peyton Manning is the QB! They are currently 6-0, amazing! I'm very proud of them too this year, especially since we no longer have Coach Dungy as head coach. He is missed but I'm sure he is enjoying retirement and other ventures.
FANTASY FOOTBALL: THE MUSTANGS! - my sister and I are playing in my office's league. We are doing great considering we were last pick in the draft! We are matched against my mom and brother right now with the last game being played tonight. We are currently ahead and beating them. I feel bad for mom.
As you can tell I'm really enjoying this football season. All of my teams aren't necessarily performing as I would like, well, except for the Colts, but that doesn't matter. I stand by them no matter what and have faith that they will put their capabilities out there and just play! We shall see what the remainder of the season holds. I'm excited! What about you?!

Emma is...
...on her way!!!!
I will be an "aunt" for the second time very soon!
I'm so happy to have little, adorable Reid! I just don't get to see him near enough! Luckily I get to see his momma at least once a year, which I'm thankful for. I only wish I could see the whole family that much and of course, more!
Today, October 19, 2009 Emma will be born! Her wonderful parents Kristin and David are so happy for her arrival. I can't wait!
I love little boys and totally need to send Reid some cute little things. I don't think he is spoiled quite enough!
However, I love little girls too! Plus, little girls allow me to indulge in my love of pink, lace, frills, etc. Kristin isn't a big fan of pink, so I will try my best to keep the pink to a minimum!
If you would like to check out the progress here is a link to their blog: http://thehowellhappenings.blogspot.com/
Have a glorious day and week!!

Camping
That's what I'm doing this weekend. Well, part of the weekend. My weekend is full of fun things with my friends and hopefully lunch with my sister on Sunday!!
I'm not a camper. I'm a city girl with a little bit of country in her. However, that city girl sure does like her hotels (ones that are clean, spiffy, comfy, etc.). Well, our bible study class at church is doing a co-ed camping trip tomorrow and Saturday. I decided to tag along. It should be quite the adventure as I think 32 people have RSVP'd! Oh my!! I think this might be our biggest showing ever at a social event. Amazing and wonderful!
I will miss being in my own bed Friday night, as we are officially going to have fall weather...lows in the 50's! Yikes, but yay!! However, I will have fun.
The rest of the weekend promises to be fun to with some errands and cleaning hopefully fitting in there too!
I'm determined to take pics...so more after the weekend...
