Oh, where do I start?! I've recently been blessed with renewal, answers, openness, acceptance of forgiveness given months ago, and much more.
It is amazing for me to look at the past year or even more and see where God has brought me and others in my life. Last year I went through some amazingly happy times and then some extremely hard, hurtful (very) times. Those hurtful times came to an end early this year and I forgave. I forgave. I knew it was what God called me to do. I knew I had to step away from the situation. I knew only HE could work in the lives of those involved including my own. Boy, has God worked. Yes He has!
I recently received answers to many questions I had that I never, ever thought I would received answers to. I received an admission to things that had happened. I've realized it had to happen this way. I've seen healing in eyes that were hard, cold, and unresponsive. Some of the answers did not give a clear path or plan regarding the future, but how can I not believe and trust the changes are for good. God calls us to forgive and to love. He has called me to do this. He has also called me to be a person where I cannot just write others out of my life.
It is amazing when you can see God has worked in someone's life and you didn't even know it was happening. Maybe God used me in that situation. I know He used others. Healing. It comes through time. I've healed. It doesn't mean I still don't hurt sometimes because of what happened but it means that I've moved past it; I've forgiven everything about the situation. People change. However, the best change is when you see God's hand in the situation; when you see their desire to grow closer to Christ; when you see they want to live the life God has called them to live and is on the journey no matter where it may take them. This makes me happy! =)
The unexpected, yes, has happened to me recently and continues to. Is it God's timing? Totally! I never would have thought I would be such a stronger person, more in tune with who I am and what I want out of life when everything happened last year. However, here I am! Stronger, closer to God, wanting to be closer, and knowing He is in control...not me!
You, however, may be thinking: "I want answers. I want the unexpected to happen to me." Just wait. It may not come in the way you are thinking or in the way that you want, but God will bring it to you in the form and fashion He desires. In the end that is all that matters.
